I am always delighted to receive requests for private and public commissions. As you can see I have experience in doing a variety of subject matter, so please do not hesitate to enquire.

How do commissions work?

After discussions with the client, I usually start with a small macquette (small scale model) in clay, drawings photographs etc. and give you a quotation. Costs are in two parts – the modelling fee and the casting fee. Prices will vary dependent on the size, the complexity of the subject matter and the casting mould required. At this stage the whole idea can be abandoned with no obligation and no hard feelings! If I am asked to proceed, a deposit for the modelling fee is requested.

The Sculpture in Progress

The sculpture starts life as a clay model. You are able to come and see the work and suggest any amendments, during the time of modelling. The sculpture will not be sent to the foundry for casting until the finished model is to everyone’s satisfaction. The casting fee is not paid until the work is finished at the foundry.

How long does it take?

Once you have given permission for the modelling work to start, it can take 8-12 weeks for the finished bronze sculpture to be delivered depending on the complexity of the subject matter.
